Glendale Educational Foundation to honor three alumnae with Diamond Awards at annual Dancing With Diamonds Gala, February 7, 2014.
- Paragon Diamond Award: Awarded to an individual who has demonstrated Entrepreneurial/Innovation Excellence.
- Paul Ignatius – Retired Secretary of the Navy, author and Founder of Harbridge House, Inc., a management and research consulting firm, Hoover High School, 1938
- Premier Rose Diamond Award: Awarded to an individual who has distinguished service and/or philanthropic efforts.
- Ron DePompa – Chief of Glendale Police Department and active in many community organizations, Crescenta Valley High School, 1974
- Hope Diamond Award: Awarded to an individual who has made significant achievement early in their career.
- Shant Sahakian – Founder of Sedna Solutions, a marketing and design firm, and board member of several community organizations, Hoover High School, 2003
The Glendale Educational Foundation serves to enrich and enhance the educational experience of Glendale Unified School District students and staff in the areas of Visual and Performing Arts, Health and Fitness, and Science and Technology. The current emphasis, Save the Music, will fund instrumental music programs in the elementary schools, and seeks to raise $150,000 this school year, to supplement the $250,000 already donated to the District which allowed the purchase of over 300 musical instruments.
The Dancing with Diamonds Gala is set for Friday, February 7 at the Glendale Hilton.
