We are pleased to announce the appointment of Elsa P. Chagolla as the new Executive Director of the Glendale Educational Foundation (GEF). She began in this role on November 15, 2016. Elsa is a visionary leader who brings a depth of experience in empowering underserved families through her work in education, housing and youth advocacy.
Elsa’s career has spanned the nonprofit, private, and public sectors, with leadership positions at Inquilinos Unidos (United Tenants), LA’s Promise and PowerMyLearning, the Wonderful Company’s philanthropy programs and the United States Department of Education. A native of the Los Angeles area, Elsa received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley and earned her Master of Science in Public Policy from the University of Southern California.
